Happy 40th Anniversary GPTA!

Join us for a night of celebrating 40 years of tennis in Georgia!

We'll gather at Ansley Golf Club (Midtown) to honor our 2017 GPTA award winners as well as the USPTA Georgia and PTR Georgia award winners. We'll also take time to reflect on the amazing 40-year history of the GPTA. It's a night you just can't miss!

7pm check in/guest fee $35/please use valet for parking

40 for 40 Campaign

Please help us continue the great 40-year legacy of GPTA by contributing to our "40 for 40" campaign to collect 40 used racquets for the Atlanta Youth Tennis & Education Foundation. We'll collect the racquets at check in at Ansley.

Q & A with Atlanta Tennis Leaders

Bring your questions to our panel of industry leaders in the Atlanta area! We'll have all facets of the tennis industry represented on our panel. Our panelists are ready to share their knowledge and suggestions, as well as a few stories from their experience in the business. 

Panelists

Dave Dvorak: Dave is the Director of Tennis at Dunwoody Country Club (since 2006) and has been teaching tennis since 1981. He is a USPTA Master Professional and USRSA Master Racquet Technician. Dave is the current GPTA President.

Beth Clay: Beth is the Tennis Director at Cherokee Town & Country Club and the recipient of several GPTA annual awards, including Director of the Year.

Matt Grayson: Matt is the Athletics Director at Ansley Golf Club and the recipient of several GPTA annual awards, including Director of the Year.  Matt is also a former president of the GPTA.

Bryan Shepherd: Bryan is an independent professional in the Atlanta area well known for using social media extensively and spreading a positive message with his players. Bryan has served on the GPTA Board of Directors and has received the GPTA Independent Professional of the Year Award multiple times.

Mike Imbornone: Mike is the president and founder of Signature Tennis Courts, providing service to all types of tennis facilities.

Ben Hestley: Ben is the Director of Tennis at Druid Hills Golf Club (since 2008). He leads all operations at the club’s tennis center including a 150 player junior program, a 300 + player adult program, as well as daily merchandise, food and beverage and bar service. Ben is a GPTA Past President and awards recipient.

Tim Noonan: Tim is a Universal Tennis Management Partner and Founder of the Chattahoochee Foundation. Tim was a four-year letterman and Tennis Team Captain for the University of Notre Dame. Tim was the 1995 Atlanta Thunder Coach, leading the Thunder to the WTT finals.  Tim teaches tennis to adults and children at Bitsy Grant Tennis Center, and he also leads the Dream Makers clinics at the Bitsy Grant location.

GPTA Lunch & Learn: Run better Tournaments!

Enhance your junior and adult tournaments!

Rick Davison, Director of Competition for USTA Georgia, will discuss ways to enhance your current Junior and Adult Tournaments, including an update on the progress of non-elimination level 6 half-day events.  Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to hear and share ideas from the audience on creative ways to improve the overall tournament experience for members and guests.

Special guest from SpotSports: John Wilkins is a top junior coach based in Florida currently working with Martin Blackman. John's experience includes his time as a a top-ranked player from the US Virgin Islands, a US Virgin Island Davis Cup Captain and an ATP tour player.  During his presentation there will be-on court activity, so be ready to move during this session! Using signal detection and color to identify instructions from distances, SpotSports tennis balls help you gain superior accuracy, consistency, control, placement and power. This allows every level of player to maintain absolute focus the entire practice session - every time.

Join us at Dunwoody Country Club on March 4th as we welcome Special Guest Ken DeHart! Check in begins at noon. Please be sure to secure your 2016 GPTA membership prior to attending this session.

This Friday we will kick off the Signature Tennis Sharp Shooter Championship open practices by competing against Ken DeHart!  Any GPTA Member or guest can compete! Additional open practices to prepare you for the qualifiers will be held in April and May. Qualifying rounds will be played in June with the top 8 pros competing at the BB&T Atlanta Open August 1-5!
